What is Integrative therapy?
You've probably seen many different types of therapy mentioned in directories and counselling websites - some might have been, person centred, psycho-dynamic, gestalt, humanist, existential, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, ACT etc etc and this can be confusing as you might not know what is best for you. The benefit of an integrative training, which is what I had, is that I was trained in four of these, and then asked to bring them together to work with clients. The ones I studied were person-centred, Gestalt, psycho-dynamic and CBT therapy. The benefit to you of this is that these methods of counselling can be blended to get the best outcome for you and make therapy something personalised and tailored to your personal situation getting the best of the four approaches in one place.
